“Kelma Kelma hi paġna dwar il-ġmiel tal-Malti, dwar il-ġmiel li tista’ tagħmel bl-ilsien Malti jekk tieqaf ftit u tagħraf xi ġmiel ta’ lsien hu l-Malti”

Kelma Kelma bdiet f’Jannar 2013 bħala paġna fuq Facebook immexxija minn Dr Michael Spagnol li tiġbor bosta aspetti interessanti tal-ilsien Malti, bħall-kelma tal-ġurnata, il-qwiel, l-idjomi, it-taqbil tat-tfal, il-logħob bil-kliem, u tippreżentahom b’mod frisk u dħuli permezz ta’ ritratti żgħar ikkuluriti. Maż-żmien, ħarġet mid-dinja tal-mezzi soċjali u kompliet tippromwovi l-Malti madwarna, fl-iskejjel, fuq ir-radju u t-televiżjoni, f’gazzetti u rivisti, u fuq il-palk, bejn nota u oħra. Din is-sena, fil-ħames anniversarju tagħha, qed tieħu bixra oħra permezz tas-sit kelmakelma.com li hu ġabra ta’ tagħrif dwar il-vokabolarju, il-grammatika, l-istorja, u ħafna kurżitajiet oħra li jixħtu dawl fuq il-ġmiel tal-ilsien Malti.

“The aims behind Kelma Kelma are manifold: posting samples of the way Maltese used to be written or old school text books adds a touch of nostalgia. Riddles like b’żewġ widnejn u ma tisma’ xejn serve to revive tradition and remind us of expressions we may have forgotten.”

– Times of Malta

“Michael Spagnol: Creator of the Facebook page Kelma Kelma, for making us fall back in love with the Maltese language and at the same time offering some fun education.”
